Review highlights
Based on 303 reviewsCushens Pub and Restaurant is frequently praised for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, complemented by friendly and attentive staff. Customers appreciate the traditional Irish pub ambiance, enhanced by features such as stained glass windows and a cozy fire inset. The menu offers a variety of well-prepared dishes, with particular commendation for fresh seafood options and classic comfort foods. Guests often highlight the enjoyable selection of beverages, especially the quality of Guinness, though some note a desire for more locally brewed beer options. The pub's lively yet relaxed environment, bolstered by occasional traditional Irish music, makes it a favored spot for both locals and visitors to the Wexford area.
Nice pub doing food with a warm welcome and good atmosphere. Lovely pint of Guinness with a good selection of food.
What a true traditional Pub & Restaurant should be!Haddock Fish & Chips - fresh, flaky, cooked to perfection and came with a side salad.Fire inset took chill out of the air & stained glass windows - great atmosphere.Music starts in May - was there in April.Only improvement I would make - have a couple locally brewed beers on tap. Only had "standards" - Guinness, Coors, and the other tired standards
Dropped in on a busy sunny Sunday afternoon, immediately welcomed by staff member and shown to a table. Menu is extensive and while didn't have mains had the most delicious Pear and Ginger Pudding made by staff member, it was mouthwatering scrumptious. Great friendly service from staff and patrons alike, will return.
We had a very warm welcome from the staff at this pub. The car park is of good size. The pub is well used with local people all of whom are very friendly. We used the pub for food and drinks, the food was very good, there was traditional Irish music playing on the Sunday that we stayed over. We would definitely stay here again for visiting Wexford which is about a 20 minute bus ride away.
Stopped for an early dinner and had a wonderful meal. The mussels starter was delicious. I had the daily fish which was a fried lemon sole that was perfect. Service was great and sitting by the fire was cozy.
Stopped here after getting the ferry to Rosslare. Lovely atmosphere and very quick service. Lot of choices on the menu. Tasty food. Very easy to find and park.
Absolutely lovely meal. My mother cooks this all the time and I have to say what a pleasure it was to have bacon ribs in a pub. It could not be any more irish. Had to sit at the bar with kids as it was so busy but my fault I did not book a table. A must try.
Staying in the coral gables B&B across the road from this pub the cushens. It was a recommendation to go over to this pub, we walked in and there was live music playing, seats available, nice pint, kid friendly and great atmosphere, I ordered a pint of guinness and my son got orange juice in the lounge bar area where we listened to the live band and locals singing, we then went into the other side bar where there was a pool table, great atmosphere, juke box playing, betting machine and lively friendly people. I put my name down for a game of pool, 1 euro per game, there was doubles and we won 4 games in a row and the locals were cheering on each pot, it was very lively there, I even managed to get a rolly off a guy to smoke, defo a great experience, my son was a bit bored but after awhile he was getting involved, 4.80 for a pint of guinness. Lovely pub, late at night but well worth the visit.
